Step aboard M/Y Champagne, a beautifully restored wooden motor yacht with a rich and fascinating history dating back to 1902. Built at Uleborgs Mekaniska Verkstad in Finland, she originally carried the name Iris and was powered by a steam engine. Just a few years later, she was transported by horse-drawn sled from the coast to the inland lakes of Arjeplog, where she began serving passengers between Arjeplog and Jäkkvik in 1905.
Over the decades, this historic vessel has taken on many roles — from passenger transport to tugboat — and always been lovingly maintained. In the 1980s, she even starred in a film about Alfred Nobel under the name Mignon, paying tribute to Nobel’s own two-masted naphtha launch by the same name.
In 2001, she was renamed Champagne by two passionate enthusiasts who restored her to offer unforgettable private cruises. Today, she is a unique and elegant charter boat, blending turn-of-the-century craftsmanship with modern comfort.
